There was once on my porch,
Where I sat at your feet and
Watch you smoke your cigarettes,
The cold got to me and so
I asked for a drag
And you traded
A stick for a kiss.
It was raining outside and the
Water was warm, the wind
Caught your hair and you smiled
A smile which has since gone
We use to go home together fighting
For backseats, jump before doors
And sit by the swings
We call for dinner early
To get to each other sooner
Your room was always too cold
But your body felt like fire.
Do you remember the stars,
That watched us grow,
Get hopelessy drunk
Sneak out of two storey windows
They saw you cry as you drove around lookin for me
Shouting my name to the dark.
Left a girl at your feet
We were two kids with nowhere to go
The world to see but nothing to show,
We had big plans before we were ripped apart
Washed upon shores with broken hearts
Time and distance shoveled between
A thousand thins you'll have, I'll never see
People you'll love, I'll never meeet
But it wasnt as if we ever had a choice,
I guess I just sometimes wish, I could hear your voice.
